PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Chicago Fire Brick is continuously developing new products and improving existing products.   A new line of state-of-the-art products for the cupola is available.  This includes:
		• GUNCAST 28LI for the stack • CW 518 Gun for the melt zone • CW 502 Gun for the well • CW 368 Plastic for the taphole • CW 469 Ram for the well
Chicago Fire Brick new line of graphitic plastics and rams exhibit significantly improved shelf life.  Allied recommends use within three months, but the new graphitic products have been installed more than four months after their manufacture date with no problems.   A new line of castables for iron ladles which includes the single component castables CW 712 Castable, Hi Al Kastite X and Metal Kast 68.
CUSTOMIZATION
Allied Research and Technology team is focused on making Chicago Fire Brick products the market leaders for  cupola and ladle applications.   Chicago Fire Brick conducts a detailed analysis of metal and slag properties prior to making a refractory recommendation.   Chicago Fire Brick will provide custom products designed to handle specific cupola melt processes.   Allied's Engineering Department provides and "Engineered Systems" approach to cupola refractory design, analyzing the mechanical, thermal, expansion and flow characteristics of a cupola.
