The Family of Heat Resistant Flooring

MATRICAST TUFFLOOR was developed more than ten years ago for flooring applications in the aluminum industry. The product line has been continuously expanded to incorporate all hot metal industries including Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Foundries, Primary Metal Production (aluminum, steel, iron, zinc, copper, ferro-alloys), Rolling Mills, Forges, and many other hot flooring applications. TUFFLOOR’s success can be seen at more than 500 installations worldwide.

Benefits include:

  • Reduced downtime when repairing floors. Most TUFFLOOR surfaces can handle normal foot and machine traffic within 24 hours after the repair is complete.

  • Reduced maintenance time and expense. TUFFLOOR is much stronger, and stronger faster, than conventional concrete. It will not spall when splashed with molten metal, slag, dross, or when in contact with hot metal, shapes, ladles, sows, pigs, slabs, coils, etc. TUFFLOOR is also more resistant to abrasion and mechanical abuse than conventional concrete flooring.

  • Safer working surfaces. TUFFLOOR will stay smoother and remain level. This results in fewer tripping hazards, less rolling equipment damage and fewer hot metal spills caused by uneven surfaces.

TUFFLOOR is designed for zoning in areas that are high maintenance due to extreme thermal cycling and intermittent exposure to liquid metal and slag splash. It is a versatile product that can be installed as a complete floor, over existing (or new) concrete, or as precast tiles.
